Business Wire, Oct 17, 1996

PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 17, 1996--EarthLink Network, Inc. today announced that GameSpot, SpotMedia communications' Internet PC game publication, is the exclusive PC game information provider for EarthLink's new gaming site, The Arena. Effective October 11, by accessing EarthLink's The Arena at www.earthlink.net/thearena, users can access PC game demos, news, reviews, hints and cheats, from GameSpot in one location, www.earthlink.net/thearena/news.> Because GameSpot is recognized as the leading on-line source of PC gaming information on the World Wide Web, The Arena users will have access to the premier Internet publication focusing on PC games. This means The Arena users will be able to access exclusive interviews and games to download as well as hints, tips and features. For The Arena users who want product reviews, the reviews section uniquely includes three viewpoints--one from GameSpot, one from the game publisher and one from a gamer.

"GameSpot is on the cutting edge of Internet gaming," said Jill Nichols, Director of Content at EarthLink Network. "We want to give The Arena users access to the best games, reviews and features. GameSpot is the leader among Internet gaming publications and can provide all this and more."

"We believe our partnership with EarthLink is a great fit," said Jon Epstein, president and publisher of SpotMedia Communications and GameSpot. "EarthLink is consistently a leader among Internet access providers--offering its customers the best products and services available."
