Kronos appoints Laura Woodburn vice president of engineering

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 1996-- Kronos Incorporated (NASDAQ:KRON) is pleased to announce that Laura Woodburn will be joining the company in the position of vice president of engineering. In her new role, Ms. Woodburn will be responsible for leading the company's software and hardware engineering organizations and will serve as a member of the company's management committee.
Commenting on the appointment, Mark Ain, Kronos' chief executive officer, stated, "We are very pleased that Laura has agreed to join us. Her proven leadership skills will provide strong direction for our engineering team. In addition, she brings a wealth of technical expertise and business insights that will be instrumental in helping us shape the company's long-term strategic product development plans."
Ms. Woodburn comes to Kronos after a distinguished seventeen year career with Digital Equipment Corporation, where she has most recently served as vice president of the Storage Business Segment. In this capacity, she has managed product development and product marketing for all StorageWorks products and directed the work of several hundred engineers. Under her leadership, storage products exceeded its revenue and profit goals. In previous positions with Digital, Ms. Woodburn has served in a wide range of software engineering management roles.
Ms. Woodburn holds several degrees. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, holds a Masters degree from Tufts University, and also completed the Executive Program at the University of Michigan School of Business Administration.
