Inacom Corp. Announces New Videoconferencing Solution Integrating Ibm Pc Systems With Picturetel Products

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 1996--Inacom Corp. (NASDAQ:INAC), a leading global provider of business-driven technology management services, announced it is providing a videoconferencing solution integrating IBM PC systems with PictureTel's Live200p videoconferencing kit. Inacom will provide all the services necessary to support the bundled videoconferencing platform.
"This relationship marks the first time corporate America can purchase a bundled videoconferencing solution the same way they purchase a PC or printer," said George De Sola, group president, Inacom Communications. "All they have to do is specify the SKU and we take care of the rest."
Clients can choose from the IBM PC 350 or ThinkPad 760 as the hardware platform bundled with the PictureTel Live200p, a complete videoconferencing kit for ISDN networks. Inacom services include consulting, domestic and international project and purchasing management, configuration, installation, end-user training, ISDN provisioning and help desk support and maintenance.

The PictureTel Live200p is a Windows(R) 95 standards-based, single-board desktop videoconferencing solution for personal computers with a PCI bus. The Live200p operates over BRI (basic rate interface) ISDN digital telephone lines and is interoperable with all other PictureTel desktop and group videoconferencing systems, as well as H.320 standards-based systems from other manufacturers.
