Alaska Airlines introduces service between San Jose and Palm Springs with $59 fare

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 3, 1996--Alaska Airlines will introduce service between San Jose and Palm Springs beginning Nov. 4 with a special fare of $59 each way.

"The Palm Springs area is becoming an increasingly popular destination and these San Jose flights will be a perfect complement to our successful service between San Francisco and Palm Springs," said Bill Ayer, Alaska's vice president of marketing and planning.

Alaska will fly one daily round-trip, with departures scheduled from San Jose at 11:32 a.m. (arriving at 12:49 p.m.) and from Palm Springs at 5:47 p.m. (arriving at 7:05 p.m.)

The introductory fare is $59 each way, based on round-trip travel and requires a 21-day advance purchase. Travel must be completed by Nov. 20 and other restrictions apply.

Seattle-based Alaska Airlines and its sister carrier Horizon Air serve more than 70 cities in Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Russia and seven Western states.
