Cisco Continues Commitment to Sequent Servers; Global user of Oracle Applications software relies on Symmetry servers from Sequent Computer Systems to run its business and keep pace with phenomenal growth

BEAVERTON, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 3, 1996--Sequent Computer Systems today announced that Cisco Systems Inc., the leading provider of internetworking and the largest user of Oracle Applications on a single database, is expanding its usage of Sequent servers with the purchase of additional equipment.
With its purchase, Cisco will add new systems and upgrade existing Symmetry servers. The Sequent systems will continue to support Cisco's corporate operations worldwide, including finance, order fulfillment, customer service and manufacturing. Currently, Cisco's environment runs upwards of 30,000 batch jobs and OLTP and Web access.
