Boca Research announces the Boca Video Phone Classic; Desktop videoconferencing for the consumer market

BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 1996--Boca Research Inc. (NASDAQ:BOCI) Wednesday announced an additional product to its line-up of H.324-compliant desktop videoconferencing products, the Boca Video Phone Classic(tm).

The Boca Video Phone Classic (Product Code BVPSZ1) is cost-effectively priced at $199 SRP with immediate availability. It allows consumers to talk over a regular telephone line (using a 28.8 or 33.6 Kbps modem) in full multimedia without requiring as high speed a PC as the competition. The software-based videoconferencing product is bundled with multiple software packages from industry-leaders: Smith Micro's VideoLink(tm), communications software providing first-rate video and audio performance; and VDOnet's VDOPhone(tm), an Internet videoconferencing software product enabling users to videoconference over the Internet for the cost of a local phone call.
