TPI introduces the new TPI 105 Data Test Unit

GERMANTOWN, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 1996--TPI (Tele-Path Instruments), a division of TTC(R) (Telecommunications Techniques Corp.), announces the new TPI 105 Data Test Unit.
The TPI 105 Data Test Unit is a portable, battery-powered digital services test instrument that accomplishes a full range of DS0, DS1, and T1/Fractional T1 test options. The rugged, portable unit weighs 7 pounds; is ideal for downstream field testing by Digital Loop Carrier (DLC) crews; and includes the following test capabilities: -0-
-- DS0 testing to include primary and secondary channels, all baseband data rates and received byte pattern display, loopback control, and BER testing
-- AT&T D4 BRITE Cards with 946A and 950A controls and AT&T SLC(R)-5 BRITE Cards can be installed easily in the field, allowing for complete DS0 testing
-- Switched 56K Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) emulation including call setup, BER testing, and Channel Service Unit (CSU) loopback testing
Optional capabilities include the following:
-- Four-Wire Local Loop test features allow testing of digital services toward the network
-- ISDN Line Termination (LT) Emulation mode supports pre-qualification of cable pairs with the actual 2B1Q Layer 1 signal
-- T1 testing options for full DS0 testing with DS1 access, T1/Fractional T1 terminate testing, and full T1 drop and insert testing (This option available for shipment in December.) -0-

The TPI 105 ranges in price from $4,320 to $7,500, depending on configuration, and is currently available for shipping.
