MicroStrategy Honored As One of the Fastest Growing Technology Companies in the US; Selected As One of the 1996 National Technology Fast 500 and As Part of the FAST 50
Business Wire, Sept 17, 1996
VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 17, 1996--MicroStrategy, the largest relational on-line analytical processing (ROLAP) vendor, today announced that it will receive two awards recognizing its tremendous growth and success.
MicroStrategy has been named as one of the National Technology Fast 500, the 500 fastest growing and most dynamic technology companies in the United States. The National Technology Fast 500 is sponsored by Deloitte & Touche LLP, Heidrick & Struggles, and The Greater Washington Initiative. Members of the Fast 500 are chosen based on a combination of key factors including corporate revenue growth, overall strength within the industry, and regional revenue rankings.
"The 1996 National Technology Fast 500 is truly an exciting group of companies that are leading our nation's growth through vision, persistence, hard work, and the transfer of technology into economic results," said John Sanders, Chairman of the National Technology Fast 500 Program. "MicroStrategy is an excellent example of a company whose vision of 'databases on the Internet' is shaping both the data warehousing industry as well as corporate decision-making processes."
In addition to being one of the 1996 National Technology Fast 500, MicroStrategy is also one of the FAST 50, an award that honors the fastest growing technology companies in Northern Virginia. Inclusion in the FAST 50 is based on percentage growth in revenues. With a compounded annual growth rate of almost 120% from 1991 to 1995, MicroStrategy was one of the leading companies to be chosen as part of the FAST 50. The award is sponsored by Deloitte & Touche LLP and presented by the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC).
"We are honored to be a member of the National Technology Fast 500 Program and part of the FAST 50," said Michael J. Saylor, MicroStrategy's President and CEO. "MicroStrategy's vision is to put a crystal ball on every desktop; to enable decision makers to make better, faster decisions in order to create and maintain a competitive advantage. We are pleased to be recognized by our peers, and we intend to continue, if not accelerate, our present growth rate of over 100% a year."
