Document Sciences Corporation Announces Initial Public Offering

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 20, 1996--Document Sciences Corporation (NASDAQ:DOCX) announced today the initial public offering of 2,300,000 shares of its Common Stock at a price of $12.00 per share. The offering is being managed by Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and SoundView Financial Group, Inc. The Company will sell 1,837,500 shares and certain selling stockholders will sell 462,500 shares. In addition, the Company has granted the underwriters an option to purchase 345,000 shares to cover over-allotments, if any. The Company intends to use the net proceeds of the offering for working capital and general corporate purposes.

Document Sciences Corporation provides a family of document automation software and services used in high volume electronic publishing applications. Autograph, the Company's document automation software architecture, enables personalized and customized publishing solutions for many industries including insurance, managed healthcare, financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing/distribution, government agencies and commercial print service bureaus. The Company's products enable an important form of communication between organizations and customers by employing enterprise database assets to produce high-quality documents that are ready to print on demand and distribute in high volume. The Company's products are used in a wide array of computing environments from client/server to large computer systems.
