Business Wire, Sept 24, 1996

BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 24, 1996--Netscape(TM) is now shipping Netscape Navigator Gold Personal Edition v3.0 (PE) with NET Transit, a derivative of the award-winning HTML Transit from InfoAccess.

Net Transit provides Netscape Navigator Gold Personal Edition users with a quick and simple way to convert a word processing file into a Web page. Netscape is bundling NET Transit as one of nine additional software products included with their new premium client software.

"We chose NET Transit for our new version of Netscape Navigator Gold Personal Edition v3.0 because of its proven reputation as an effective and easy-to-use HTML conversion tool," said Julie Herendeen, group product manager for Netscape Navigator Personal Edition. "We are committed to providing the highest quality Internet products to our users and NET Transit is a welcome addition to our product offering."

NET Transit contains a point-and-click Wizard that automates converting a document into an HTML-encoded Web page. Users can choose background colors, separators, and navigation icons as well as break down long documents into multiple Web pages. Installing NET Transit is simply a matter of double clicking on the NET Transit installation icon found in the "Cool Software Products" area of the Internet Startup main menu of Netscape Navigator Personal Edition.

"Converting existing documents into HTML code is one of the biggest challenges users face when creating a Web page," said Rick Dillhoff, CEO of InfoAccess Inc.

"We're delighted that Netscape has selected NET Transit to be included with the latest release of Netscape Navigator Gold Personal Edition. It's indicative of their responsiveness to user needs by providing a simple solution for quick and easy Web page creation."

The Netscape agreement marks the latest of several OEM bundling deals InfoAccess has entered into for its Transit family of products. Most recently, an agreement was penned with Frontier Technologies for their Intranet Genie, which also includes NET Transit. Version 2.0 of HTML Transit, InfoAccess' flagship HTML conversion product, began shipping on Sept. 11, 1996.

Upgrades from NET Transit to HTML Transit are available direct from InfoAccess, and are priced at $395. Netscape Navigator Gold Personal Edition 3.0, Netscape's premium suite of Internet client software, helps users create Web pages and access the Internet. The product includes Netscape Navigator Gold, Internet connection software, easy Internet account setup with a choice of leading Internet service providers, and integrated e-mail and newsgroups.

Bonus Netscape Plug-ins and Internet applications and a multimedia Internet tutorial are also included. Priced at $79.95, Netscape Navigator Gold Personal Edition is available on CD-ROM for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 in retail stores, with Macintosh versions available shortly.
