Residential/Commercial Broadband Digital Video Networks

Residential and commercial broadband networks require multiple services from many sources to many destinations. With advancements in MPEG-2 and ATM, broadband networks are being built to deliver the performance necessary for real-time video and audio transport engaging new markets for a wide range of service offerings.

Interactive Broadband

Interactive broadband applications require low latency broadcast-quality video. Applications may include distance learning, judicial arraignment, corporate training, surveillance and telemedicine.

Multi-channel MPEG-2 digital video encoder solutions over ATM provide access on demand for live or playback events. Transportation expense and travel time are eliminated.

Video Production Networks

The combination of MPEG-2 and ATM will serve as a replacement for the old-style VTR I/O channels. An ATM OC-12c (622 Mbps) can carry several MPEG-2 compressed video streams along with an uncompressed video and audio stream.
