Business Wire, Sept 25, 1996

ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 25, 1996--Secure Computing Corp. (Nasdaq:SCUR) announced today the signing of master reseller agreements with Anixter Inc., a $2.2 billion value-added provider of integrated communication systems and services, and Norstan Integration Services, the voice-video-data integration services division of Norstan, Inc. (Nasdaq:NRRD).

Secure Computing has added Anixter and Norstan to its worldwide network of resellers to address the expanding network security market. Under the agreement, the companies will market Secure Computing's BorderWare Firewall Server product line across North America.

The BorderWare Firewall Server is a suite of third-generation firewall servers delivering advanced security, performance and management functions. An integrated, plug-and-play firewall and Internet gateway system, the BorderWare firewall product line is based on a security optimized operating system that overcomes the security loopholes present in application-layered operating system shields.

According to Andy Chacon, Anixter's vice president of marketing for WAN systems, "The BorderWare product line offers our customers a more affordable, easier to install security solution, while still providing solid authentication and encryption capabilities. BorderWare makes reliable network security much more accessible to a larger population of Internet business users."

Paul Lidsky, executive vice president, Norstan Integration Services, adds, "The price-performance of the BorderWare product line is outstanding. Companies do not have to make a major investment and yet they get an impenetrable level of security. This, combined with the ease of use and management, makes the BorderWare firewall product very attractive to our customers."

"Anixter and Norstan's selection of our BorderWare product line to deliver business-critical network security solutions to their customers reinforces the demand for secure, complete and easy-to-use solutions," said Don Whitbeck, vice president of marketing and sales for Secure Computing. "We have a distinct advantage by offering a full array of firewalls to meet customers' needs for multiple price points and security functionality."
