PFF Bank & Trust re-establishes consumer loan department
Business Wire, Sept 3, 1996
POMONA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 3, 1996--PFF Bank & Trust (NASDAQ:PFFB) has re-established its Consumer Loan Department to expand the bank's current loan program, announced Larry M. Rinehart, president and chief executive officer of the $2.1 billion community bank.
Housed at PFF's state-of-the-art Loan Center in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., the Consumer Loan Department underwrites home equity loans and lines of credit for up to 100 percent of the value of the consumer's home, purchase money second trust deed loans, home improvement loans and, in the future, plans to offer unsecured lines of credit and personal loans.
Customers can inquire about consumer loans at any one of PFF's 22 branch offices located in San Bernardino, Riverside, eastern Los Angeles and northern Orange counties.
The manager of the department, Vice President James R. Tatman, is a 30-year veteran of the lending industry, having served 18 years at PFF Bank & Trust.
Tatman joined PFF in 1978, as the assistant manager of Consumer Loans. The following year, he was promoted to assistant vice president, and in 1988, became the Consumer Loan Department manager.
In 1993, PFF consolidated the operations of the Consumer Loan Department when establishing its Loan Center in Rancho Cucamonga. During this time, Tatman served as the bank's community investment officer.
"The consumer credit needs of the communities warranted a department specifically dedicated to consumer loans. Unlike larger financial institutions, the entire loan process is produced locally under one roof," said Rinehart.
In addition to consumer loans, PFF's Loan Center generates fixed rate or variable rate mortgages, FHA/VA loans, business loans and construction loans.
Added Tatman, "Our entire consumer loan staff lives and works in the Inland Empire and, with years of lending experience behind them, keenly understands the credit needs of the communities we serve."
