Compression Commences Third Party Testing of WARP IV with FRF.9 Standard

Business Wire, Sept 4, 1996

EDMONTON, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 4, 1996-- COMPRESSION (Alberta Stock Exchange:CTE) Compression Communications Corp. (CCC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Compression Technologies Inc. (CTE - ASE) is pleased to announce that they have incorporated support for the Frame Relay Forum FRF.9 Compression Encapsulation standard into the WARP line of stand alone compression and encryption units.

Incorporating the FRF.9 support into products that allows for interoperability of the WARP family of products with Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) equipment. CCC has started third party testing of frame relay interoperability between CCC WARP IV and a US based data communication manufacturer's hardware which supports FRF.9 standard.

The FRF.9 encapsulation also provides an encapsulation vehicle for the incorporation of CCC Encryption across Frame Relay. The CCC Encryption hardware and software architecture provide for fast and secure transmission of packets across Frame Relay networks based on the CCC proprietary 256 Byte encryption. The low latency nature of the CCC Encryption provides for limited throughput performance degradation when used across the WAN network services.

The WARP IV product will be demonstrated at the INTEROP NETWORLD trade show (Booth 3333), Atlanta Georgia, September 18 to 20, 1996. Compression Technologies provides a family of data link optimization products that deliver, on average four time the throughput normally available on existing data links, with simultaneous encryption. CTE trades on the Alberta Stock Exchange (ASE). Corporate and product information about CTE/CCC products is available on the Internet's World Wide Web at http://www.compression.com. -0- The Alberta Stock Exchange has neither approved nor disapproved the information contained herein.
