Ericsson signs $140 million AXE Switch contract with Telekom Malaysia Berhad

STOCKHOLM, Sweden--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September 9, 1996--Ericsson has signed a $140 million contract with Telekom Malaysia Berhad, the major telecoms operator in Malaysia, for the supply of AXE switching equipment to their fixed telecoms network.The contract includes deliveries and installations of AXE trunk lines, INsolutions (Intelligent Networks), ISDN as well as network management solutions over a two year period.Installations will start in late autumn 1996.
This is another supplementary agreement to the 800,000 AXE lines contract with Telekom MalaysiaBerhad, signed in 1992. Ericsson has already installed 2.8 million AXE lines in Malaysia.
