Epson announces award-winning Stylus Pro XL getting better: it's now bundled with live picture software; the most dynamic creativity tools together in one box
Business Wire, Sept 9, 1996
TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 9, 1996--Epson, the creator of high-quality, award-winning imaging products, Monday announced a new partnership in hardware and software bundling.
The Stylus Pro XL, Epson's top-of-the-line "Photo Quality" wide carriage graphic arts printer, is now shipping with a free Live Picture Productivity Pak, which includes Live Picture SE on CD-ROM, the "Live Picture Revealed" softcover book and a training video, valued at almost $600.
"This new partnership gives the graphic designer even more creative power," said Mark Radogna, product manager, graphic arts, Epson. "Live Picture provides the creative environment that will capitalize on the greatest features of the Stylus Pro XL -- large format photographic-quality images produced on the desktop. This is one product bundle that makes good sense."
"Live Picture is thrilled to be involved in the Stylus Pro XL project," said Doug Erickson, OEM director, Live Picture. "The relationship provides our mutual users, the quality-conscious graphic arts market, with proven productivity imaging tools at an excellent price point."
The multi-award winning Stylus Pro XL color ink jet printer is Epson's high-end graphic arts printer. The Pro XL prints at 720 x 720 dpi with Microdot technology, which results in smooth color gradations and ultra-realistic fleshtones.
A key feature is its ability to accommodate paper up to 13 inches x 19 inches allowing users to print images of 12.7 inches x 18.3 inches, enabling full-bleed 11 inches x 17 inches printing with enough room for crop and registration marks.
Options available are a LocalTalk interface, EtherTalk/Ethernet interface and host-based Adobe PostScrip Level 2 software, which includes PANTONE CALIBRATED approved colors and color matching profiles.
The free Live Picture Productivity Pak is a robust package designed to provide an extensive set of image editing tools to perform compositing, masking, retouching and special effects to deliver photographic quality imagery and realtime performance.
The software is fully integrated with other desktop applications and offers a flexible editing environment to deliver the best quality images across the broadest range of media in the shortest time.
The Pak also includes the comprehensive, full color softcover "Live Picture Revealed" book, additional CD-ROM tutorial and a step-by-step "Coming Up To Speed" training video (upon product registration).
The Stylus Pro XL carries a two-year warranty and is supported by the EPSON Connection, a toll-free customer support and technical assistance line. For more information on EPSON and its products, call 800/GO-EPSON (800/463-7766) or visit the company's Web site at http://www.epson.com.
