Centex begins construction on new Manatee County high school

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 10, 1997--Centex Rooney Construction Co. Inc. Thursday announced it has begun construction on Lakewood Ranch High School, a $33 million project in Manatee County just outside of Bradenton, Fla.

The 287,000 square-foot high school is scheduled for completion in August 1998. The high school, with accommodations for approximately 1,900 students, will have four academic classroom buildings and also will include a 650-seat auditorium, media center, cafeteria, gymnasium, locker rooms and administrative offices.
