Business Wire, April 10, 1997
BOTHELL, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 1997--iDREAM Software, a leading builder of intelligent 3D solutions, has announced the availability of their first software product, Realism, in Q2 of 1997 to integrated circuit manufacturers and system OEMs. Realism is targeted at providing corporations and consumers with a compelling use of 3D and takes advantage of current system capabilities while tapping some of the newer features being offered by today's leading chip manufacturers.
iDREAM Software is scheduled to show a first look at the non-game 3D applications supporting Trident 3D graphics architecture at the upcoming WinHEC tradeshow. iDREAM Software's application delivers real-time, interactive solutions that allows users to visualize, create, and design using 3D content on the desktop without the need for high-end hardware or advanced technical knowledge.
Realism offers a comprehensive solution that provides an advanced application framework combined with a variety of solution catalogs for business and consumer needs. Users can quickly create and design interactive layouts with intelligent 3D content such as; space planning and design, 3D mapping and home interior design. It provides report generation, real-time and interactive walk-through of a layout or design, and seamless integration with the Internet for immediate update of content and information.
"We are committed to providing software for people to use emerging technologies to achieve solutions on a computer they could not practically achieve otherwise," states Steve Petrucci, iDREAM Software's president. "With accelerated 3D graphics processing, we are able to improve the way people do business and the way people work at home on a computer."
iDREAM 's products utilize a powerful technology that supports the drag-and-drop creation, integration, and manipulation of different types of media components, including 3D graphics and 3D sound. iIDREAM's technology also provides a flexible and extensible mechanism to add intelligence and connectivity to the Internet or an Intranet. These components are used to create interactive design environments, kiosks, simulations and virtual reality walk-throughs.
"We are very excited about iDREAM's software because it provides practical applications for cutting-edge 3D hardware technology," said Dr. Yong Yao, vice president of strategic marketing and planning at Trident Microsystems, Inc. "Trident believes that the value of high performance 3D graphics extends beyond the gaming environment into everyday business applications and iDREAM 's Realism is an excellent example of 3D business solutions."
"Trident's leadership in 3D technology is exemplified by its 3DImage architecture that utilizes an on-chip setup engine and support for the Intel Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) for excellent levels of performance and quality," said Petrucci. "We are optimizing Realism to take advantage of the 3DImage feature set." System Requirements and Contact Information
Realism requires a 80486 CPU or later, Windows 95, mouse, 12MB of RAM, 10MB of hard disk space, VGA or better video capability and a sound card and a modem (both optional).
