Stanley J. Meresman joins D2K board of directors; Silicon Graphics vice president of finance lends expertise for next level of company growth

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 1997--D2K Incorporated, a provider of end-to-end knowledge distribution solutions, has announced the appointment of Stanley J. Meresman to its board of directors.
Meresman serves as senior vice president, finance and Chief Financial Officer of Silicon Graphics, Inc. (Mountain View, Calif.; NYSE:SGI).
In announcing the appointment of Meresman, Edward Young, D2K president and CEO stated, "We are very excited to have Stan join our board of directors. With his more than 20 years experience as serving as CFO for high growth technology companies, he brings us invaluable insight and expertise. We feel that he will be instrumental as we embark on the next strategic level of growth for D2K."
Meresman declared, "I believe that D2K has one of the most innovative product lines and strategies for the data warehouse/data mart industry that I have seen to date. I think that the company will be instrumental in establishing the hallmark for the next generation of data solutions."
Meresman has served as senior vice president, finance and Chief Financial Officer for Silicon Graphics, Inc. since 1989. Silicon Graphics is the leading supplier of visual computing solutions, high performance servers and supercomputers targeted for a wide range of technical, scientific, corporate and entertainment applications. During Meresman's tenure, the company has grown from $250 million to $4 billion in revenue.
Before joining SGI, Meresman served as vice president, finance and Chief Financial Officer for Cypress Semiconductor, Inc. During this time, Cypress grew from $2 million to $150 million in sales, was the fastest growing and most profitable semiconductor company, and did its initial public offering (IPO) first on the NASDAQ then later on the NYSE.
Meresman holds an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University and a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from University of California, Berkeley. Meresman has previously been President of the Board of the Financial Executives Institute, Santa Clara Valley Chapter and Chair of the Board of Family Services, Mid-Peninsula, Palo Alto. He currently serves as Board Treasurer of Castilleja School in Palo Alto. Meresman is a member of the Board of Directors of Polycom, Inc., a public company traded on the NASDAQ.
