SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 2, 1997--

OpenLink Software provides a powerful enhancement to JDBC

allowing users to scroll in both directions.

OpenLink Software, Inc., industry leaders in the development and deployment of secure, high-performance JDBC, ODBC and UDBC technology, announces the release of OpenLink High-Performance Driver, Version 1.1 for JDBC, the much anticipated extension of its industry acclaimed high-performance JDBC Driver suite.

OpenLink High-Performance Driver, Version 1.1 for JDBC introduces bi-directional scrollable cursor support to all database engines supported by OpenLink Software: Oracle, Informix, CA Ingres, Sybase, Progress, MS SQL Server, Unify, and Postgres95 also included is support for JDK 1.1.

"OpenLink Software's commitment to product excellence and innovation is more than emphasized by this new product release. We are providing High Performance drivers for JDBC that fully support the Java proposition of "Write Once, Run Anywhere," said OpenLink Software President & CEO, Kingsley Idehen. "JDBC is very limited without bi-directional scrolling. OpenLink Software has put a very conclusive end to this dilemma for developers and end-users."

"It's exciting to see OpenLink Software deliver innovative technology that puts the real needs of the market place first," said Dr. Lew Tucker, Director of Corporate and ISV Relations at JavaSoft, a business unit of Sun Microsystems, Inc. "OpenLink Software's standards of excellence continue to highlight the importance of JDBC at the enterprise level."
