BCE Inc. Will Hold a Live Meeting on the Internet on April 30, 1997

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 1997--BCE (ME;TSE;VSE;NYSE BCE ) BCE Inc., Canada's most widely held company with 400,000 beneficial common shareholders, will take to the Internet April 30 with a live webcast (audio and video) of its 14th annual meeting of shareholders.

Up to 1,000 people will be able electronically to "attend" the meeting which will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Palais des Congres de Montreal. The telecommunications facilities for the webcast will be provided by BCE subsidiary Bell Canada via its Sympatico Network. Bell has provisioned to allow up to 600 Internet users to access the video feed and up to 400 users to access the audio feed. Only computers with certain technical capabilities will be able to access both the video and audio feeds.

The live webcast will be available from 9:45 a.m. on April 30. A taped version of the webcast will also be placed on the site for those who wish to view it after the event. The BCE meeting of shareholders, including the question and answer period, is expected to last approximately two hours.
