INGRAM MICRO LAUNCHES COMPUTER SUPPLIES/ACCESSORIES DIVISION; New Initiative Will Strengthen Ingram Micro's Core Competencies

SANTA ANA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 1997--Ingram Micro Inc. announced today it has taken another step to further capitalize on its core competencies by launching the Computer Supplies/Accessories Division. The new division, which is headed up by Senior Director Bob Brown, will provide resellers with a single source for all product needs.
"Ingram Micro is the first nationwide technology distributor to focus on the consumable supplies and accessories market," said Brown. "We created this division to further leverage our core competencies-world-class associates, solid execution, financial strength, global information systems and market segmentation. Ingram Micro's ongoing relationships with many leading vendors provides resellers with the opportunity to deliver technologies and related supplies products as they emerge. Currently, Ingram Micro carries more than 5,000 supplies and accessory stock keeping units (SKUs), including Apple Computer, Canon Computer Systems, Epson America, Exabyte, Hewlett-Packard, Imation, Iomega, Kodak, Lexmark International, Panasonic Computer Peripheral Company, Ricoh and SyQuest Technology.
