Doug Jeffries Joins ALARIS Medical Inc. as Vice President/Chief Financial Officer

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 12, 1997--ALARIS Medical Inc. (NASDAQ:ALRS) Tuesday announced that Douglas C. Jeffries has joined the company as vice president and chief financial officer.
Jeffries was formerly vice president and CFO at Pyxis Corp.
Jeffries served as vice president, management information systems, for Cardinal Health, an $8.5 billion national health-care service provider, and was promoted to CFO of Pyxis, a leading manufacturer of point-of-use dispensing systems for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, following its acquisition by Cardinal.
His experience includes that of corporate controller for a $3 billion national pharmaceutical wholesaler and vice president/CFO for a $20 million manufacturer and marketer of food products. Jeffries also has 11 years experience with Price Waterhouse, where he worked in audit and SEC services, including IPOs, LBOs, secondary equity offerings, acquisitions and mergers.
A Certified Public Accountant, Jeffries received his undergraduate degree from California State University, Chico, with a concentration in accounting. He later completed his MBA at the University of Southern California.
Previously known as Advanced Medical Inc., the company announced a name change to ALARIS Medical Inc. in May 1997. Its operating company, ALARIS Medical Systems Inc., is known for its IMED and IVAC brand names of intravenous infusion therapy systems. The company's principal line of business is the design, manufacture and marketing of intravenous infusion therapy products, periodic patient monitoring instruments and related disposables.
ALARIS Medical's products are distributed to more than 120 countries worldwide. In addition to its San Diego world headquarters and manufacturing facility, the company also operates manufacturing facilities in Creedmoor, N.C., Basingstoke, Hampshire, U.K., and Tijuana, Mexico.
