(NYSE:CA), today announced the immediate availability of the Windows NT version of CA-Quick Response Engine advanced planning and scheduling system. Version 2.0 now runs on the Microsoft Windows NT platform and provides many powerful enhancements.

Enhanced scheduling and constraint management facilities provide faster response, better customer service and lower work in process in diverse manufacturing environments and tooling dependent operations. The ability to schedule either or both master production schedule and customer orders helps make to stock as well as make to order businesses meet changing demand. Ease of use improvements include the ability to customize browser displays, terminology, and/or language.
CA-Quick Response Engine, first released in September of 1996, is an object oriented tool designed to improve customer service levels through better scheduling, shorter lead times, and improved capacity utilization. It combines traditional materials and capacity planning, finite scheduling, and production feedback into a single planning engine. Using the processor capabilities of today's high- powered personal computers, CA-Quick Response Engine can execute material and capacity planning cycles in minutes. Because CA- Quick Response Engine is an integrated extension of CA-PRMS(TM), Acacia's comprehensive ERP system, customers can quickly achieve the full benefits of a complete dynamic interactive environment model.
