Vertigo 3D HotTEXT Now Shipping Worldwide; Leading 3D Software Developer Creates a Textually Pleasing 3D Experience Within Adobe Photoshop
Business Wire, August 8, 1997
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 8, 1997 --VERTIGO 3D (CANADIAN DEALING NETWORK:VRGO.) Vertigo Technology Inc. is now shipping Vertigo 3D HotTEXT(TM), the newest product in their rapidly expanding suite of 3D tools. HotTEXT(TM) enables digital designers to create 3D text and paths, apply textures and add customized lighting effects from within Adobe Photoshop.
"We are bringing our 3D technology from the feature film special effects market over to the desktops of digital designers worldwide. Our family of 3D products let designers create high-quality computer graphic effects from within their favorite applications," said James D. Stewart, President and CEO of Vertigo Technology Inc.
Vertigo 3D HotTEXT, launched from within Adobe Photoshop, allows users to draw paths in 3D space; create 3D text; control font, size, depth, spacing, rotation; add textures and colors; and create customized lighting effects. Users can choose from their own textures or from over 1,500 textures shipping with the product. Text is automatically aligned to user-defined or pre-set 3D paths. HotTEXT's virtual camera lets users view text from any perspective in their new 3D world.
"Vertigo 3D HotTEXT lets users create Hollywood-quality 3D titles using Adobe Photoshop and Vertigo. They no longer have to use a stand-alone 3D application to get the look they want -- we are delivering it to them at the click of an icon," added Stewart.
Digital designers creating content for print, web and new media based applications can now add 3D to their application mix without having to take the time to learn a new application. "I used to create 3D effects character-by-character in a separate application and then bring it over to Photoshop to get it web-ready. With Vertigo I can pull down all the functionality I need from my Photoshop toolbar. This saves me a lot of time," comments John Meloy, in-house web designer, Alpha Tec Computers.
