Network Associates Offers Web-Based Training on Sniffer Basics; Anytime, Anywhere Learning Through a Browser
Business Wire, Dec 16, 1997
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 16, 1997--Network Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ:NETA), a leading supplier of enterprise network security and management solutions, today announced its first web-based training (WBT) course on the Sniffer(R) Network Analyzer. The first release of this new WBT course will be used primarily by field service organizations at major equipment manufacturers and large corporate information technology (IT) departments. The course was designed to teach network managers and field engineers the basic features of the Sniffer Network Analyzer, as well as offering a preliminary course to better prepare beginners for classroom training on advanced features of the Sniffer.
"Getting basic Sniffer training at your own pace is an effective way to educate field service organizations," said Tony Stayner, director of services product marketing at Network Associates. "Field engineers can't always take the time away from their customers for classroom training; so delivering Sniffer basics over their company Intranet lets them learn when they have time available or a need to know."
"Web-based training provides course content in a reliable and consistent manner," said Judie Dodson, Network Associates' director of educational services for Sniffer University. "Each student learns at their own pace and on their own schedule."
Course Description and Availability
The course format is interactive with animated demonstrations and audio, interactive exercises, and quizzes. Using leading edge Web cache technology, downloads are quick and easy. Course content focuses on the Sniffer basics, such as capture, display, and saving trace files for expert analysis. Offered at an introductory level, the course takes approximately four to six hours. This Web-based training course on the basics of the Sniffer Network Analyzer will be available January 1998. This is the first in a series of Web-based training courses designed to complement Sniffer University's large and comprehensive instructor-led curriculum.
The Sniffer Network Analyzer is a leading fault and performance-troubleshooting tool used by network managers and field engineers to find and solve network communication problems.
