NORCROSS, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 23, 1997--Mitsubishi Consumer Electronics America (MCEA) Tuesday issued the following statement concerning consumer demand for its WB-2000 WebTV unit:
"Consumer demand is making Mitsubishi Consumer Electronics
America's WB-2000 WebTV unit one of the 'must have' items
of the holiday season. While some stores are reporting sold
out situations, MCEA, which has been shipping WB-2000 units
since late November, continues to deliver product to dealers
on a daily basis. Due to the extraordinary high demand, all
dealers' orders will not be fulfilled prior to Christmas, but
MCEA is committed to resolving back-orders as quickly as
possible. Production of WB-2000 units remains in high gear,
and everyone is doing their very best to exceed customer
expectations. MCEA regrets any inconvenience that these
back-orders may cause."
