NovaLogic Breaks New Online Ground With novaworld.net

Business Wire, Dec 5, 1997

CALABASAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 1997--

New massive online service effortlessly supports seemless

gameplay; more than 100 players per game, and two modes of

combat, at no extra cost to consumers

NovaLogic Inc. Friday announced the launch of novaworld.net, a new large-scale multiplayer gaming site available free (a) to owners of "F-22 Raptor" -- the first combat simulation in the Lockheed Martin Fighter Series.

"F-22 Raptor" pilots can fly the U.S. Air Force's next-generation jet fighter and experience 21st century combat with more than 100 human opponents in a single combat arena.

Unlike other gaming sites that charge customers to play on their service, novaworld.net is offered free with the purchase of "F-22 Raptor," giving players access to hundreds of other pilots and the ability to play on the most advanced multi-player gaming site online today.

According to NovaLogic, multi-player is as fast and as smooth as a single-player game regardless of the number of people playing or where they are located. Players can join a game at any time without disrupting other players. In addition, novaworld.net features the same "F-22 Raptor" ease of installation, photo-realistic combat environments, intuitive flight controls and two modes of exciting Internet play -- "Deathmatch" and "Raptor Air Wars" or "R.A.W."

"Deathmatch" is an open-air combat arena in which every fighter encountered is an "enemy." As players meet other online pilots, they can regroup and form their own elite password-protected squadrons. "R.A.W." combines the best elements of cooperative and head-to-head play. Pilots are assigned to squadrons and must defend their own base while simultaneously attacking enemy targets.

Said John Garcia, president of NovaLogic, "This massive multi-player environment, combined with the excitement of flying America's most technically advanced jet fighter, is sure to result in the most heart-pounding dogfights on the Internet today." Garcia added: "novaworld.net is the future of Internet gaming whereby the consumer knows the game will grow and evolve after the initial purchase."

NovaLogic is offering gamers an opportunity to experience first-hand the superior Internet capabilities and gameplay of novaworld.net through a free demo of "F-22 Raptor" available for download from its Web site -- www.novalogic.com . NovaLogic will also host a worldwide "F-22 Raptor" competition on novaworld.net in early 1998.
