The company will now accept materials from its first significant contract during the first week of January 1998, and will process this $2,400,000 project during January and February 1998. This contract with Philip Services is for treatment of contaminated soils from a major client's site in Toronto. This contract was previously announced on November 4, 1997.
To better inform the local community on its operation and the environmental requirement set by the Quebec Ministry of Environment and Wildlife, the company is participating in a commission, consisting of community leaders. The commission has a mandate to be proactive in supplying correct information about the St. Ambroise facility to the general public. This will achieve three important objectives. Firstly, the public will receive correct information from the company about its operations at the facility. Secondly, the company will be able to counter any misinformation, which often occurs when projects like ours are discussed. And thirdly, the commission will be able to convey the significant economic and environmental benefits the facility provides to the region and the towns of St. Ambroise and Shipshaw.
