Sionix announces orders for flagship software
Business Wire, Feb 10, 1997
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 1997--Sionix Corp. (SINX) Monday announced that revenues for the month of January were $40,000, resulting from its Sionix5 SCADA Manager software sale.
The company also announced that it is appointing sales representatives nationwide and has received applications for territories in the Northeast, Southwest, Midwest and Southeast. Sionix develops, sells and supports software and hardware systems for the water industry.
"In early January, we started shipping free preview Sionix5 CD-ROMs," stated Sionix President Jack Moorehead. "So far, all indicators point to how receptive the industry is toward our products. We are going to do very well because we have affordable technology that works," he added.
According to Moorehead, Sionix plans to expand its nationwide sales force as rapidly as possible. "Because of our cutting-edge technology, some of the most highly qualified and experienced people in the industry are contacting us with the intention of coming over to Sionix," he added.
The Sionix5 CD-ROM includes a SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) program that automatically monitors water quality. This software processes a continuous flow of data from inline sensors that detect potential drinking-water contamination.
As needed, Sionix5 automatically alerts plant operators by alarm, phone, beeper or fax -- before the public water supply is contaminated.
Sionix5 also includes an automatic health department report compiler, on-demand technical and legal references, extensive OSHA information and operator-certification courseware.
Sionix develops automation software and monitoring hardware by combining its patented mechanical equipment and proprietary PC software, plus carefully chosen third-party components. Sionix software and multiple-source hardware automate public and private sector operations that process drinking water, treat sewage and reclaim contaminated waste water.
The company maintains a Web site at http://www.sionix.com .
