New Identity at ProMat '97

Robotic Vision System, Inc. (Nasdaq NMS:ROBV) today announced that at the ProMat '97 trade show in Chicago, IL, Feb. 10 - 13, it introduced CiMatrix as the new name for Computer Identics and International Data Matrix (I.D. Matrix), two well known subsidiaries of Robotic Vision Systems, Inc. (RVSI).

The integration of these companies brings together over 30 years of innovation and expertise in providing data collection, bar code scanning, and more recently, two-dimensional (2-D) imaging systems. "Our customers now have access to a single technology source for solving their traditional bar code and data collection needs, as well as their emerging 2-D systems requirements," said Pat V. CiMatrix has established itself as an international leader in the development of one-dimensional (1-D) and two-dimensional (2-D) bar code symbology solutions that automatically identify, capture, analyze and communicate information in industrial, material handling and manufacturing environments.
