Emergency Filtration Products Inc. authorized to enter unpriced quotation for its stock on OTC Bulletin Board
Business Wire, Feb 19, 1997
ST. GEORGE, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 19, 1997--Emergency Filtration Products Inc. Wednesday announced that it has been notified that it has been authorized to enter an unpriced quotation for its stock on the OTC Bulletin Board of the National Association of Securities Dealers Inc. (NASD).
The trading symbol assigned to the company is EMFP.
Emergency Filtration Products, a Nevada corporation with offices in Utah, manufactures a patented emergency CPR isolation mask. The RespAide mask addresses public and scientific concerns relative to disease transmission between rescuer and victim during CPR.
Unlike other masks, the RespAide filters human breath in both directions, and has been tested to exceed military specifications for this class of product.
In announcing the success of the application to trade on the OTC Bulletin Board, the president of the company, Bruce Batchelor, said that everyone involved in the company is excited about the potential of this essential adjunct to first aid. The company is a start-up success, having passed from concept to a marketable product in less than 12 months.
The design of the RespAide is protected by a U.S. patent, and filings have been submitted for the 55 countries in the Patent Cooperation Treaty.
The RespAide is an excellent companion to CPR education and will reduce reluctance in giving CPR based on aesthetic or contamination concerns. It is regarded as the best available technology in the field of CPR isolation masks.
The total potential U.S. market for CPR isolation masks is estimated at 80 million units ($800 million FOB manufacturer; $2 billion retail), with annual replacement of units at $30 million ($90 million retail).
Initial marketing approaches will be military; governmental; national-level distribution for emergency medical markets; select OEM applications (vehicles and first-aid kits); and specialized end-user sales. The company has secured a U.S. military catalog number for the RespAide.
