Genus Strengthens Management Team

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 6, 1997--Genus, Inc. today announced the addition of two executives to its management team.

Eric Newton, 46, has been named vice president and general manager of Genus' Thin Film Products Group, replacing James Burns who recently left Genus. Genus also has added 32-year-old Travis Gray, a former district sales manager at Credence Systems, as director of strategic accounts.

"These appointments are being made to help strengthen Genus in its core areas as we forge through a challenging transitionary period brought on by the current industry downturn," said Genus president and chief operating officer James T. Healy.

Newton, who joined Genus in 1988 as director of manufacturing, has been the company's vice president of operations since 1991. Prior to joining Genus, he was Fab 3 production manager at Advanced Micro Devices. Gray was an account manager at LTX Corp. before joining Credence Systems in 1993.
