Nokia Engineering Services Center wins ISO 9001 registration

WESTLAKE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 7, 1997--Nokia today announced it has earned ISO 9001 registration for its Engineering Service Center (ESC). The Certificate of Registration presented by the British Standards Institute (BSI) certifies that Nokia operates a quality management system which complies with the high standards embodied in ISO 9001.

The ESC is the twelfth global business unit of Nokia Telecommunications to be ISO 9001 registered.

The most comprehensive of the ISO standards, ISO 9001 is a model for more quality assurance in design, development, production, installation, and servicing adopted by more than 80 countries. The ESC will now undergo regular surveillance audits by BSI every six months.

The Engineering Service Center provides implementation, network planning and network operation and maintenance services to customers such as Seattle-based Western Wireless and Aerial Communications, headquartered in Chicago.
