Hung to become president, Braun U.S., and group general manager, Braun North America

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 15, 1997--Philip Hung has been appointed president of Braun Inc. and group general manager of Braun North America, subsidiaries of The Gillette Company (NYSE:G) effective Feb. 1, 1997.

Hung, 49, will be responsible for the United States and Canadian operations of Braun, the world leader in electric shavers. He succeeds A. Bruce Cleverly, who was promoted to president of Oral-B Laboratories, also a subsidiary of The Gillette Company, effective Feb. 1.

Since 1994, Hung has been executive director of Braun International Affiliated Markets, based at Braun AG headquarters in Kronberg, Germany.

Hung joined The Gillette Company in 1975. During his career, he has served as general manager for Gillette Export Markets of Southeast Asia and regional manager for China. He is a graduate of the University of Hawaii and earned his master's degree in international relations from Johns Hopkins University.
