Sanchez Computer Associates signs International Business Partner agreement with IBM for PROFILE/Anyware on RS/6000
Business Wire, Jan 21, 1997
MALVERN, PA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 21, 1997--Sanchez Computer Associates, Inc., (NASDAQ: SCAI) today announced the signing of an International Business Partner agreement with IBM Corporation.
The agreement covers marketing and support of an AIX version of the PROFILE/Anyware banking system running on IBM's RS/6000* platform in 34 countries around the world.
Sanchez agreed last summer to port its software to AIX, IBM's implementation of UNIX, and to begin joint U.S. marketing as an IBM Business Partner. IBM Business Partners are independent firms that work with IBM to provide a broad range of hardware and software systems, marketing, installation and support to meet customer needs.
"The combination of RS/6000 technology, the UNIX operating environment and the PROFILE/Anyware electronic banking server offers banks the powerful core production system they will need to compete successfully in rapidly changing markets," said Frank Sanchez, president of Sanchez Computer Associates. "With this infrastructure, they can lower costs at the same time that they add new capabilities to attract and hold profitable customers through customized financial products and services. Customer loyalty will be an increasingly scarce commodity as electronic commerce spreads.
"Hardware based on RISC technology and supporting the UNIX operating environment is an appropriate infrastructure for banks. Likewise, PROFILE's open architecture, which extends from hardware environment through application design, offers banks excellent price/performance along with the most flexibility for supporting a production environment. Our recent addition of the PROFILE/Anyware electronic banking server assures the product and channel agility needed for Internet Age competition," said Frank Sanchez.
"The combination of PROFILE/Anyware running on AIX and the RS/6000 is an ideal combination for serving mid-size and large financial institutions," said Ken Schechet, Worldwide Market Development Manager - Finance Industry, for the RS/6000 Division of IBM. "This application takes advantage of the RS/6000's scalability and reliability, characteristics essential in the competitive marketplace. We are very excited to be working with Sanchez internationally as well as domestically."
