OPTi Denies Patent Infringement Claim by Crystal Semiconductor

MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 1997--OPTi, Inc. (NASDAQ:OPTI) released today its position concerning the patent infringement claim filed against the Company, Tritech Microelectronics International Pte Ltd., and Tritech Microelectronics International, Inc., claiming infringement of three Crystal Semiconductor Corporation patents.
According to Jerry Chang, Chairman and CEO of OPTi, "We have reviewed the complaint filed against us and have concluded that our products do not infringe against any of the patents contained in Crystal's suit. OPTi believes that these claims are without merit and intends to vigorously defend itself with regard to this complaint."
