NovaSoft Systems Selects Verity to Search-Enable NovaManage Products; Verity SEARCH'97 Platform to Provide Full-Text Search Capabilities for Leading Document/Workflow Management System

BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 1997--NovaSoft Systems Inc., the leader in integrated document and workflow management systems, and Verity Inc. (NASDAQ:VRTY), a leading provider of search and retrieval technology for the enterprise and Internet/Intranet, today announced an agreement whereby NovaSoft will incorporate Verity's SEARCH'97 technology into NovaSoft's text retrieval product, called NovaSearch.
NovaSearch is an add-on module to NovaSoft's NovaManage product line that will now provide NovaSoft customers full-text search capability as part of their document and workflow management solutions. The NovaSearch add-on module is scheduled for general release in Q1'97.
NovaSearch is designed to allow users to conduct full content- based retrieval, based on user-specified words or phrases. NovaSearch will also enable users to conduct Boolean searches, which means users can specify the subject matter of desired documents using combinations of words.
The NovaSearch module will add this functionality to NovaManage, NovaSoft's integrated document and workflow management system that allows organizations to manage, control and scale business-critical processes and information.
