VIASOFT settles litigation with former CFO

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 1997--VIASOFT Inc. (NASDAQ/NM:VIAS) Wednesday announced that it has settled the pending litigation against its former chief financial officer, Alvin E. Holland Jr.

Under the settlement agreement, VIASOFT will make a cash payment to Holland and will forgive certain outstanding debt from Holland to the company. Each party has released the other from all outstanding claims made in the litigation.

The settlement amount was considerably less than the amount of anticipated litigation costs the company was advised would be incurred in the case. The company has accrued all amounts related to this settlement in the quarter ended Dec. 31, 1996.
