SELECT Software Tools Hires New Vice President of U.S. Sales; Deane Marfone Joins SELECT's Management Team

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 11, 1997--SELECT Software Tools (NASDAQ:SLCTY), a leading vendor of component-based modeling tools, Friday announced the appointment of Deane Marfone as vice president of U.S. sales.

Marfone brings to SELECT extensive experience in direct sales and sales management within the software industry. Based in SELECT's U.S. headquarters in Irvine, Marfone is responsible for the U.S. sales territory as well as Canada and South America.

Marfone joins SELECT most recently from Intersolv, where he ran the Testing Tools Division. Prior to that, he held sales management positions with companies such as Forte, a leading application development company; FileNet, a product imaging and workflow provider, and IDE, a CASE tool provider. Marfone brings a breadth of development tools and senior sales management experience to SELECT and has a strong track record at the sales level.

In his new role, Marfone will be responsible for building additional U.S. sales teams as well as concentrating on building up existing territories. In particular, he has already begun recruitment for the eastern region.
