MAI Wins the Microsoft 1997 Retail Applications Developer Award For Enterprise Property Management Systems

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 7, 1997--MAI Systems Corp. (AMEX:NOW) is proud to announce that its Windows-based Property Management program LodgingTouch has won the Microsoft 1997 Retail Applications Developer Award for the category of Enterprise Property Management Systems.
The RAD awards challenged developers to create best-of-breed retail, hospitality, distribution, transportation and logistic solutions. Judging criteria included quantifiable business benefits, best use of the Microsoft Windows operating system-based technology, ease of use and adoption, and integration and exploitation of Internet and intranet technology.
The awards were given to firms that develop and implement superior business applications addressing specific customer needs.
The panel of judges was made up of the following hospitality and technology experts: Tim Harvey, vice president of technology, Promus Corp.; Richard Brooks, vice president of operations, Bridgstreet Accommodations; Jules Sieburgh, vice president hotel systems, Intercontinental Hotel; Dennis Hadley, director, Independent Cash Register Dealer Assoc.; and Don McDowell, MIS & systems development manager, Lettuce Entertain You.
