Diamond Multimedia names General Manager for audio business; Patrick Little joins Diamond Multimedia

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 12, 1997--Diamond Multimedia Systems, Inc., (NASDAQ:DIMD), a leader in Internet multimedia acceleration, today announced the appointment of Patrick W. Little to the newly formed position of General Manager for the Company's audio business unit.

Little will assume worldwide responsibility for overall management of Diamond's audio product line including product development, engineering and marketing activities.

"Patrick Little brings a wealth of experience in PC and multimedia product line management to Diamond," said David Watkins, vice president and general manager of Diamond's Audio-Visual Systems division. "His broad experience in all facets of product and strategic marketing as well as engineering will allow us to continue to develop and market leading-edge PC audio products based on the new DirectSound and DirectSound 3D audio APIs developed by Microsoft."

The first product in the Company's audio line is the recently released Monster Sound, the first PCI-based audio accelerator featuring immersive positional 3D sound.

Little joins Diamond Multimedia from Trident Microsystems, Inc. where he was senior director of marketing for the 3D and advanced graphics product line. Prior to Trident, he had product line and marketing responsibility for Opti, Inc.'s core logic product line. Little has also held engineering positions at Wyse Technology, Inc. and Dave Hantulla & Associates where he developed ASICs, cache controllers and video subsystems.

Little earned a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from San Jose State University in 1987.
