Business Wire, June 23, 1997

TULSA, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 23, 1997--Multimedia Games, Inc. (NASDAQ: MGAM). Multimedia Games, Inc. (MGAM) announced today that the company has entered into a non-exclusive license with Sony's Game Show Network for the MegaBingo game to be reported as part of Game World, a daily variety show covering public gaming and TV game shows.

Gordon Graves, chairman of the board and CEO of Multimedia Games, Inc., said "The success of our proprietary Proxy Play service is dependent upon our ability to distribute the results of the MegaBingo games in the most entertaining fashion to a large audience. With TCI's recent decision to distribute The Game Show Network, it will soon be seen in more than fifteen million homes.

"We began gaming over the information highway in 1988. We started with a closed circuit satellite TV network operated in parallel with a dial-up data telecommunications network and a massive audio conference call network. We began running terrestrial TV broadcasts of bingo in 1990, tested over cable in 1993, took MegaBingo to the backyard dish market in 1994, and began offering it over the Internet in 1996.

"We are now establishing a Universal Gaming System to deliver high-speed, media-rich games of chance to people at licensed restaurants and bars, gaming establishments, and their homes and offices in some cases. We are selling convenience, privacy and customized entertainment to the consumer in the form of controlled, limited-access, government-sponsored gaming. Game results reporting on a cable television network, such as the Game Show Network, will have a very positive impact on the success of the proxy play project."

Multimedia Games, Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary MegaBingo(R), Inc., has exclusive contracts with over 50 Indian nations to provide linked games that are integrated among multiple halls. Multimedia Games, Inc. is the nation's leading provider of linked, high-stakes bingo games, electronic based interactive bingo games, and associated data processing services and products to the Indian gaming industry.
