The HP and EMC solution is designed to provide customers interested in large-scale decision-support systems (DSS) and OLTP applications with a tightly integrated, robust package capable of handling multimedia and object-based technology. An HP and EMC configuration, built and tested at EMC's development facilities in Massachusetts, was demonstrated on-stage here today at Oracle's Network Computing Launch at Radio City Music Hall. The system was deployed on a four-node HP 9000 Enterprise Server cluster running the HP-UX(1) operating system with 5TB of EMC's Symmetrix 3000 Integrated Cached Disk Arrays.

The HP 9000 Enterprise Server and HP NetServer system platforms provide customers with scaleable, interoperable and highly available commercial systems.
EMC Symmetrix Enterprise Storage systems provide simultaneous support of up to 32 heterogeneous servers, up to three terabytes of capacity in a single system and feature a variety of user-selectable levels of information-management, information-protection and information-sharing capabilities.
