Business Wire, June 24, 1997
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 24, 1997--ISG Technologies Inc. (ISG) (TSE:ISO) (NASDAQ:ISGTF) was presented today with ISO 9001 certification under the TickIT scheme, designed specifically for software developers.
The SGS International Certification Services Limited presented ISO 9001 registration to ISG at a ceremony today. Three hundred guests attended the ceremony; among these were dignitaries, international clients and employees, celebrating ISG's certification for consistency of quality and regulatory processes.
ISG is a member of an elite group of Canadian companies that have received ISO 9001 certification under the TickIT scheme, a quality consistency outlined by the United Kingdom government specifically for software development companies. This recognition marks another step for ISG towards Total Quality Management. Through self-assessment and adherence to a maturing software processes model, development criteria initially designed by the Software Engineering Institute, ISG maintains its earned recognition as one of Canada's 100 Fastest-Growing Companies.
"An improved and regulated infrastructure of discipline and order facilitates the production of quality software. The refining of methodologies and processes promotes the continuation of improved and increased quality," said Dexter Zenar, Director, Quality & Regulatory Affairs, ISG. The ISO 9001 certification is indeed a benefit to ISG, but is also critical to a company's success in the medical imaging industry, where products must be reliable.
