Siemens and RELTEC announce joint development for access platform technologies

NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 1997--Siemens Stromberg-Carlson and RELTEC am technology. The parties envision joint development for the transmission of data packets via asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) over asymmetric digital subscriber line ion services," said Keith Glasnapp, vice president of the Access Products Business Unit for Siemens Strombe Business Unit. "The enhanced integrated access platform will take advantage of Siemens' xDSL and ATM broadband technologies, allowing customers to future-proof their copper-based networks and add broadband services as they are needed. This development ably complements RELTEC's deep fiber solution as we deliver broadband services closer to the home over infrastructures with our FTTC product offering."
