Vision Solutions names Michael Sanford to head business development effort; senior technology executive assumes critical role at leading-edge software firm

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 30, 1997--Vision Solutions Inc., the industry's fastest growing provider of continuous availability and scalability software for IBM AS/400 computer systems, Monday announced Michael Sanford as vice president of business development.
Sanford will be responsible for driving technology and distribution alliances between Vision Solutions and strategic industry partners to better leverage Vision's software solutions. He will also support Vision's direct and reseller sales channels in this role. Sanford reports directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Robert J. Zwerling.
Previously, Sanford was the managing director of EPC International where he developed strategic partnerships for this Irvine-based food industry software provider. Sanford also served as a principal of Sanford & Associates, an Irvine-based management consulting firm specializing in management practices, computer systems implementation, and strategic sales and marketing services. He also served as president and CEO of Planning Control International, a Newport Beach-based software publisher specializing in solutions for the project management market.

Prior to Planning Control International, Sanford held senior positions with Sun Information Services, McDonnell Douglas Automation Company and the Service Bureau Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of IBM. He is a graduate of Seton Hall University and is a former member of the U.S. Army's "Old Guard" or U.S. Presidential Honor Guard.
