Consolidated EcoSystems announces sale of marine spill response business to Oil Mop
Business Wire, March 11, 1997
JACKSON, Miss.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 11, 1997--Consolidated EcoSystems Inc. (ConEco), formerly Exsorbet Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq Small Cap: EXSO) announced today the sale of its marine spill response and hazardous materials response business to Oil Mop, Inc.
The sale revenues were in excess of $1,000,000.00, although the actual amount is undisclosed. Use of proceeds from the sale will be entirely to reduce conventional debt. The sale is anticipated to result in a net monthly increase of cash flow at LARCO, the ConEco subsidiary where the response equipment and personnel were used.
In addition to cash consideration, Oil Mop, Inc. and ConEco have agreed to a long term cooperative relationship where Oil Mop will use, on a first call basis, the men and equipment from ConEco to supplement Oil Mop's own forces should a spill exceed their local capabilities. Also, LARCO stands to receive a percentage of Oil Mop's proceeds from certain business activities from business referred by LARCO. In a cooperative fashion, ConEco will call on Oil Mop for any spill response needs beyond the daily capacity of LARCO, K.R. Industrial Services of Alabama, SpilTech or other ConEco subsidiaries.
Jim Connors, President of ConEco said, "This relationship is an example of targeting areas of work each company is most efficient and profitable in. We intend to have a true mutually beneficial business relationship."
