Emergency Filtration Products Inc. announces initial purchase orders
Business Wire, March 12, 1997
ST. GEORGE, Utah.---(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 1997--Emergency Filtration Products Inc. (OTC/BB:EMFP) Wednesday announced that Durr Medical Corp., a subsidiary of Bergen Brunswig Corp. (NYSE:BBC), has placed initial stocking orders for the company's RespAide CPR isolation masks.
The RespAide has been authorized for stocking by the U.S. military, for which Durr is a prime vendor.
The non-exclusive arrangement between Durr and Emergency Filtration Products also includes the appointment of Durr as a stocking distributor for non-military accounts traditionally addressed by Durr.
Durr operates 27 regional distribution centers supplying medical and surgical equipment to hospitals, clinics and nursing homes, in addition to military buyers.
Emergency Filtration Products, a Nevada corporation with offices in Utah, manufactures the patented emergency CPR isolation mask called the RespAide.
The RespAide addresses public and scientific concerns relative to disease transmission between rescuer and victim during CPR.
Unlike other masks, the RespAide filters human breath in both directions, and has been tested to exceed military specifications for this class of product.
The design of the Respaide is protected by a U.S. patent, and supporting filings have been submitted for the 55 countries in the Patent Co-operation Treaty.
