Trend Micro Brings Enterprise-Strength Virus Protection to Businesses and Banks with ServerProtect 4.0; Offers critical protection in today's hacker-happy computing environment

Business Wire, March 12, 1997

CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 1997--Trend Micro Incorporated, a leader in server-based virus protection, today announced the release of ServerProtect 4.0 for Windows NT, a new generation of virus protection software for file servers that protects multi-server environments from viruses and other malicious programs.

ServerProtect works from inside the network to detect and remove viruses, giving businesses a much needed increase in security and reducing the risk of data loss.

ServerProtect also touts powerful remote management capabilities that allow a system administrator to install its virus protection software from a single console onto hundreds of other servers, even those miles away.

After installation, the administrator can also manage the remote servers from the same location, changing passwords, scheduling scans, updating the software, and even responding to each incident of virus infection with a specific solution. Competing products often require administrators to physically install and manage software at each server or allow only limited remote features.

"Poor manageability of virus protection has been the greatest obstacle to its use in large corporations, where an organization can have hundreds of servers at multiple sitt of MIS professionals walking around updatingilable for Novell NetWare environments.
